Welcome

At Marlborough House we believe in getting the very best out of the children in our care. Experience has shown us time and again that when pupils are given a wealth of opportunities and allowed to explore them in an environment where expectations are high they will achieve, in whichever area of school life they have particular talent.

All of this would be nothing, of course, if the children were not happy; this is our primary aim. We pride ourselves on being the kind of place where matron gives the occasional treat as well as medical treatment, where children go out of their way to be kind to a new pupil and where I know all the children by name and they, hopefully(!), know me.

As a Head it could be easy to become detached from the real business of the school – the children – but I make every effort to combat this by having an ‘open door’ policy, by reading occasionally to the Nursery children, by teaching some of the older children and by running some senior club activities. I believe that what you put in to something will determine what you get out of it; an attitude that sums up nicely what we try to instill in our pupils.

If, in reading through these pages, you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.
