Whether directly linked to topics being covered in class or 'educational' in the wider sense, our outings are an integral part of school life.
Day trips are often designed to make the most of the fabulous countryside and wealth of places of interest on our doorstep. We hope that visits to the Battle Abbey, Dover castle, Tudely church and Pett Level beach amongst many others, encourage the children to appreciate their surroundings. London is, of course, within easy reach and an Art and History trip to the National Gallery is a favourite with teachers and children alike.
We do, of course, also go further afield, as for Geography trips to Montreuil in northern France and to the Isle of Wight. An extremely popular skiing trip takes place during the Christmas holidays and Aix-en-Provence is the destination for a week long French and Classics trip in the autumn. A highlight for many of our 13 year old leavers is the week they spend at an outdoor activity centre in Devon immediately after their final exams in the summer. It's hard to imagine how a 6 metre 'bridge jump' into a river estuary could be bettered as a post-exam celebration!
