Your Admissions Journey

  • Admissions Enquiry

To make an admissions enquiry, please complete our Get In Touch form, via the link below. Alternatively, you can email registrar@marlboroughhouseschool.co.uk or phone 01580 753555.

Our Registrar, Mrs Emma Houchin, will be in touch to answer any further questions you may have and provide you with information about the school, tailored to your child's specific needs.

  • School visit

Ultimately, the best way to see why Marlborough House is so special is to come and visit us yourself.

    We would like to encourage you to visit Marlborough House in order to see the school in action, and to meet our pupils and teachers.  We offer two ways to visit us;

    • Individual Appointments
    • Open Mornings
  • Registration

It is never too early to apply for a place in our Nursery or indeed to register for a place in any year group.

To obtain a place on the waiting list, parents should complete and return a Registration Form together with the Registration Fee.

  • Taster Day

    Nursery

Children can join our Nursery when they turn 2.5 years old. We like to meet all prospective pupils so parents are invited to bring their child for a short visit to have a look around the Nursery, play with the other children and meet the Nursery teachers.

    Reception

We like to meet all prospective pupils prior to offering places in Reception. Parents are invited to bring their son or daughter for an informal visit to look around the Pre-Prep and then prospective pupils spend a short time with their peer group in the informal setting of our Nursery. These visits usually take place in the preceding Spring or early Summer Term.  We believe Nursery and Reception are ideal times to join Marlborough House for both social and educational reasons as this ensures that children have the best possible start to their education and are well prepared for moving confidently into the Prep School at Year 3.

    Years 1 - 2

For entry to the Pre-Prep in Year 1 and Year 2, prospective pupils are invited to spend a ‘taster’ day at the school (in their current year group). For September entry these visits usually take place at the end of the preceding Autumn term or in the early part of the preceding Spring Term. The aim of the taster day is for children to get a feel for what life is like at Marlborough House and we have the opportunity to meet and get to know them. Visiting children have a 'buddy' assigned to look after them and show them around.  Our children love having a visiting child in their class for the day!

    Year 3 - 8

For entry to the Prep School at Year 3 and above, prospective pupils are invited to spend a ‘taster’ day at the school (in their current year group). The aim of the taster day is for the prospective pupil to get a feel for what life is like at Marlborough House and we have the opportunity to meet and get to know them. For September entry these visits usually take place at the end of the preceding Autumn Term or at the start of the preceding Spring Term. Visiting children have a 'buddy' (or two or three!) assigned to look after them and show them the ropes, and they are made to feel very welcome by everyone. Visiting children join in with everything that our pupils do, so depending on the timetable for the day, it could be that they will take part in Games, Art, DT, Drama or Music in addition to the usual subject lessons.

  • Place Offered

Following a successful taster day, a place may be offered and whenever possible we try to make an offer within a week of a taster visit. We will also provide feedback to parents on the day.

  • Place Accepted

When a place is offered, the return of the Acceptance Form and small deposit completes the entry procedure.

  • Welcome Pack

A new pupil introductory pack will be forwarded to you with all the information you need for the start of term.

  • Next Steps

Our lovely class social reps will also be in touch to arrange for you and your child to meet up with other families and start to make new friends. We invite children who will be joining us to come back for as many visits as they like in the preceding terms as we believe that it is important that a child starts to feel part of the school as soon as possible. All new pupils have 'buddies' to help them settle in and we keep a close eye on all our new pupils to make sure that they are making a smooth transition to their new school.
