Inter-School Geography Quiz Winners

Last Friday, ten teams from seven schools battled their geographical wits against each other and Marlborough House came out on top!

Our Year 5 geographers travelled all the way to Feltonfleet Prep School in Surrey, to take on ten other schools in a great Geography Quiz.

The rounds tested a range of knowledge including:

  • Flags of the World
  • European Capital Cities
  • Label Countries on a Map
  • Recent Natural Disasters
  • an Audio Visual round

It was a very close competition that was finally decided on a nerve-racking tie-break, but MHS were much closer with their estimate of the circumference of the world. (In case you ever find yourself in the same tie-break situation… the equatorial circumference of Earth is about 24,901 miles (40,075 km).

Thanks to Mrs Fox and Mr Kimber for taking the team and especially for all Mrs Fox’s hard work in teaching such great geographical knowledge!
