SCHOOL ETHOS

Enjoying Today, Educating for Tomorrow

From aged 2.5 to 13, every child is encouraged and supported to unlock their potential and discover what really inspires them to learn and succeed. We prepare children, in the widest sense, for the next stage of their educational journey and life beyond Marlborough House.

At Marlborough House we are committed to educating characters as well as minds. All children are challenged to achieve excellence in a wide range of academic, cultural and sporting experiences at Marlborough House. When we see our values reflected back in the achievements, personal development and characters of each child as he or she grows, we know that each child is, indeed Enjoying Today, Educating for Tomorrow.

Not too big, not too small, just right

It is a deliberate choice to maintain a school roll of under 340 pupils, so that we remain nimble enough to deliver on our promise: to discover and develop the gifts within each child.

Our excellent and enviable teacher to pupil ratios enable us to discover what inspires each child to learn. This attention to detail gives staff and pupils ample opportunity to reinforce our overriding belief - that we should all "Value Self and Others". This is frequently reflected back in the respectful behaviour of the children towards each other as they go about their day.

Success for us at Marlborough House is whenever and wherever our children shine. So as well as celebrating with the children when they gain places at their first choice of senior school, we also delight in the personal journey they have each made to get there and the lessons they have learnt along the way; becoming a great friend, a good loser, a gracious winner, a willing participant or a voice for other children.

We may not be the largest Prep School, but we punch way above our weight when it comes to success at Senior School examinations and bringing home the silverware from sports matches and music competitions.

School VALUES

Valuing self and others

At Marlborough House, "Valuing Self and Others" is at the heart of everything we do. In addition, we are guided each half of term by a different Virtue which becomes integrated into school life. The children are actively encouraged to adopt these values and virtues that we hold so dear whilst being filled with a sense of wonder and excitement in their own learning.
