TOP 20 Day Nursery Award - Daynurseries.co.uk
In 2023, the Nursery at Marlborough House won the Top 20 Day Nursery Award in recognition that we are one of the top 20 rated day nurseries in the South East of England.
Huge congratulations to our wonderful Nursery Team. As a current parent put it: “The Nursery staff are the kindest, most patient and dedicated team you could possibly wish for your child.” A big MHS thank you to our Nursery parents past and present who very kindly took the time to leave us a review on daynurseries.co.uk, helping us to achieve this ratings-based award.
Awards for Innovation in Education - Talk Education
We were delighted to be Finalists in the Talk Education Awards for Innovation in Education 2023. From the huge number of entries internationally, only five schools were selected in each of the eight categories.
We were Finalists in the 'Environmental Achievement' category in 2023 and Shortlisted in 2022. This recognises the School's environmental education and focus on sustainable food production.

We were delighted to have been recognised in consecutive Independent School of the Awards over the past four years.

Best Schools Awards - Muddy Stilettos
We were thrilled to be Highly Commended in Muddy Stilettos' Best Schools Awards 2022, for Most Creative Learning Through Play (Early Years).
The awards are in their first year and received over 400 entries, so we are delighted with this recognition from the judges.

Green Tree Schools award - Woodland Trust
Building on years of work towards the Green Tree Schools award, we were delighted to receive our Gold Award from the Woodland Trust in 2021.
In collaboration with the Woodland Trust, we are also proud to support the creation of new woodland, to offset our use of paper when printing school publications such as The Castle Magazine. An example certificate from our Spring 2020 edition is below.
Eco Schools
We are proud to have been an Eco School since 2019, and achieved Green Flag status with Distinction in 2023 as part of our environmental education programme and focus on sustainable food production.
Our lead projects included setting up a school-wide Eco-Committee, sending food waste to an anaerobic digester to be converted into green electricity, introducing Enviro-Maths Day and other co-curricular initiatives, talks from local farmers, our Young Farmers club which ran weekly farm trips, installing a polytunnel for our fork to field initiative and creating an Eco logo and motto for the School led by the Eco Reps.
We are very grateful to Eco-Committee (pupils, parents and staff) and the local farming community who have supported these endeavours.
RHS School Gardening Award - RHS
We have now reached Level Four of the RHS School Gardening Award in recognition of the Pre-Prep Gardening Club's achievements. In order to gain this next level, the children had to:
- use tools like a professional gardener to dig, rake and sow
- know how to protect their plants against the weather, pests and diseases
- to plan seasonally to harvest produce throughout the year
- to know how to use the produce from their garden
