Children's Mental Health Week

'Mr Newton, a flower for your feelings. By Gardening Club.' - hyacinths have appeared around the school with personalised messages as part of Children's Mental Health Week.

The hyacinths, which were grown in the polytunnel during Gardening Activity, have been placed in classrooms and offices around the school. The children decorated each flowerpot with lovely a message, designed to lift the spirits of pupils and staff as they enjoy and nurture their new plants.

As part of Children's Mental Health Week, we also took more traditional lessons into the great outdoors, both for a wellbeing boost and to inspire learning. For example, Year 3 took their maths lesson on decimals outdoors; carefully measuring the exact length of things found in nature, before drawing and recording them in their books, and finally adding them together in different combinations.
