This Monday saw Marlborough House turn into a hotbed of criminal activity.
We arrived at school to find the Hopkins Hall laptop missing. Fortunately, we had Llorien from Crime Scene Challenge, a qualified police detective, on hand to guide us through the forensics necessary to find the culprit. Every child from Year 3 to 8 had the opportunity to take fingerprints, identify footprints and hunt for clues. In the end, would you believe that it was Mrs Jensen who had taken the computer! Luckily for her, she was acquitted on the - some would say slightly flimsy - excuse that she had been sleepwalking. Congratulations to Egan (with special mention to Willoughby P) for cracking the case!
Meanwhile, the classrooms were no safer. The children worked in mixed-age house teams to create their own Marlborough House mysteries. They had the task of coming up with a crime scenario that could have taken place in school and then presenting it in their chosen format. The quality of work produced was hugely impressive, with a range of stories, presentations, board games and picture books. Perhaps inevitably, many of the teachers were bumped off in some highly imaginative ways - who knew Mrs Mitchell's chinchillas were so vicious, for example!
All participants should be proud of the work that they produced, but there will be some winners announced on Monday, 12th May for some of our best junior detective teams.
