We're pleased to announce that, for the rest of this term, some of our Year 7 pupils will be contributing to the school newsletter by reporting on our Friday Activities. As part of their own activity, they'll be sharpening their interviewing and observation skills while capturing the fun, energy, and teamwork that fill the end of each week. We can’t wait for you to read their unique perspectives and celebrate the amazing things happening across our school!
Hello! Our names are Charlotte B and Erin C, and today we’re excited to bring you an interview with Annie B about her swimming activity.
1. What is your favourite stroke?
I really enjoy front crawl because I can move through the water very fast.
2. What advice would you give to someone who has never swum before or feels nervous about it?
Just give it a go! The teachers are here to help you, and once you know how to swim, it gives you so much freedom to enjoy yourself and play in the water.
3. What is your greatest achievement in swimming?
Winning gold for my house during our swimming gala.
4. What did you do during your swimming activity this week?
We’re learning to dive and then glide as far as we can once we're in the water.
5. What is your least favourite thing about swimming?
I’m not keen on putting on a swimming hat — but otherwise, nothing puts me off swimming!
6. What is your favourite thing about swimming?
I really enjoy the free time at the end of our activity where we get to play with the floats.
7. When did you start swimming?
I started learning to swim when I was a baby — around the age of one.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our first Year 7 feature! Keep an eye out for more student-reported highlights from our Friday Activities in the coming weeks.
