Hello! Our names are Ralph and Arthur, and today we’re excited to bring you our second interview in the Friday Activities series. This time, we caught up with a group of students who chose to play Croquet and Boules as their activity—and they had a lot to say!
1. Why did you choose croquet or boules for your Friday activity?
“It was a great option because it meant I could be outdoors and still take part in a sport.”
2. What do you enjoy most about playing croquet or boules?
“I love being outside, getting fresh air, and having the chance to meet new friends while playing.”
3. Was it your first time trying the game, or had you played it before?
“I’ve played both Croquet and Boules before—and I really enjoy them!”
4. What’s something new you've learned while playing this activity?
“Mrs Walker has taught us about the culture and history behind the games, which is really interesting.”
5. Would you recommend croquet or boules to other students? Why?
“Definitely! It’s not something most people play at home, so it’s a fun chance to try something new.”
6. How do you feel at the end of the session—tired, happy, relaxed?
“I always feel happy and relaxed after playing.”
7. What advice would you give someone trying croquet or boules for the first time?
“Keep a steady hand and don’t rush. It’s a game of patience.”
8. What’s the trickiest part about hitting the ball through the hoops?
“Aiming! It’s hard to hit it just right without knocking into the hoops.”
9. Do you like the strategy side of croquet or just the fun of hitting the ball?
“I mostly enjoy the fun side—especially being with friends outside.”
10. What do you think makes croquet different from other sports?
“Unlike most sports that are fast-paced, croquet is turn-based, so it feels more relaxed and tactical.”
Whether you're into strategy, sunshine, or just spending time with friends, croquet and boules might be the perfect Friday activity for you. Why not give it a go next summer term—you might discover a new favourite sport!
Stay tuned for our next Friday Activities interview!
