Our leavers enjoyed a fantastic week away in North Devon at Skern Lodge. The weather treated them kindly - warm, dry, sunny and windless... then rainy, chilly and windy - often all in one day! Not bad for the West Country!
The children threw themselves into every moment, making the most of the sunshine and embracing the rain - whether at sea, in the river, on the hills or tackling the rope work activities. Each day featured three different adventures, all of which were met with energy and enthusiasm.
From crabbing at the quay to leaping off it (special mention to Annabel J, who managed around 25 jumps in 40 minutes!), every activity brought a new challenge. The high ropes tested their nerve, the tunnels pushed their tolerance for small, dark spaces, and the hill and beach walks culminated in a night spent in self-made bivvies. Remarkably, the children stayed dry all night, despite six hours of rain starting at 1:00am!
It was a week full of fun, courage, laughter and unforgettable memories. A huge thank you to Mrs Goldsmith for all her help and support on the trip.
