Life's a Beach for Year 2
Year 2 set off to Pett Level with fingers and toes crossed for a sunny dry day - and they weren’t disappointed.
With a light wind and blue sky they set off across the shingle beach armed with (several) changes of clothes, buckets, spades and nets. A traditional day at a British beach was underway! First they set off down to the rock pools and negotiated wet sand, slippery seaweed and lots of soggy mud to find various sea creatures and a few washed up fish that had seen better days. Most of them managed to keep hold of their beach shoes but a few got lost in the magic mud. After a tasty lunch it was time to go for a paddle. The water was fresh to start with but it didn’t take long for the paddle to turn into a full lie down in the shallow waves. Mrs Saunders proved that, once again after 41 years at MHS, a little bit of cold water was not going to stop her and soon they were all jumping around having fun. A quick dry off on the beach, another change of clothes, and it was back to school with a rucksack full of washing (and hopefully no lone crabs!)
