The children marked this year's Harvest Festival with a musical feast
On Friday 3rd October, we celebrated Harvest Festival with music, poems and even a Harvest Rap by Year 6. Our School Houses: Awdry, Dunbar, Egan and Hawkings, each presented the food they had collected for donation to the local Nourish Community Foodbank at St Augustine's Church in Tunbridge Wells.
Nursery and Reception enjoyed digging up carrots and learning about the harvest as part of their celebrations. Activities were accompanied by some lovely singing and dancing.
The story of harvest and our school's relationship with local farmers and agriculture will continue to be told through Pre-Prep's beautiful display all about 'Our Farming Families'.
“It’s really important for our children to take this time to both celebrate and reflect on the importance of food and the role it plays, not just in our everyday lives but in the wider community. Being a rural Prep School, many of our children come from farming families for whom this is an especially significant time of year.” Vanessa Coatz, Acting Head
