MHS Springwatch with Forest School

Join in our fun as Mrs Reid brings Forest School to all of your homes.

Over the next week discover how your garden changes during Spring.  We are going to create our very own MHS Springwatch to enjoy looking at these changes and learning together at this special time of year.

To guide you all, Mrs Reid, Head of Pre-Prep is filming weekly Forest School videos for Reception to Year 4, all following a theme of MHS Springwatch. All the project work is being shared into the Forest School Team for children to access in their remote learning platform.

Weeks 1 and 2

The tasks and challenges for Weeks 1 and 2 are looking at flora; observing, identifying and photographing the plants and trees growing in the children's gardens or on family walks. Those who are growing vegetables are encouraged to keep a planting diary and share tips.

Week 3

Forest School continued last week with land art and building a shelter for animals with some splendid bug hotels.

Week 4

This week's activity from Mrs Reid is to create a human shelter or hide to observe nature around you. We look forward to hearing how you get on with this and your MHS Camp Out!
