Anyone for Golf?

School life extends well beyond the classroom at MHS, where our co-curricular opportunities now include golf on the new pitch and putt course, set in the school's grounds. The course is complete with a driving range area and practice green, making golf a popular choice for our first term of Friday activity afternoons.

In addition to their extra-curricular activities, pupils in the Prep School can now also take part in a weekly activity of their choice during curriculum time, increasing the enrichment opportunities available within the school day. As Mr Newton said: “activity afternoons provide pupils with the opportunity to develop different skills, boost confidence and ignite a love of learning through a new hobby”.

The range of activities on offer currently include options as varied as dry slope skiing (great for getting in some practice ahead of the school ski trip), digital animation, trampolining and cookery. We hope to update the activity list each term, with riding being opened up to all pupils from January.

A huge thanks to Mr Kent for setting up the golf course, to all the staff who lead these sessions (particularly those which take place offsite) and last but not least, to the parents who have kindly given up their Friday afternoons to deliver horses and riders to their sessions.
