Very well done to the four children who represented MHS at the NSEA Grass Roots Inter-School Show Jumping Championships.
Eight of our team of riders qualified to compete but, due to Covid and other commitments, just four of our riders headed to Felbridge Showground near East Grinstead to ride in these highly competitive Championships.
The first class was 40cm and Eliza F, Jack G and Annabel J rode some lovely rounds in the small arena and this team came 5th overall, with Eliza also being awarded 4th place individually. As this class is judged on style these were great results.
Next came the 50cm class and Emma G, Jack G and Annabel J rode very well in the big international arena. The team were unplaced, but Emma was 9th individually which was a fabulous result at this level.
Finally, it was the 60cm class and Emma G rode both her pony and her brother's pony (but not at the same time!) to make up a team of three. Annabel and Beech rode a beautiful clear over a big course, as did Emma on Honey. These were followed by a speedy round by Emma on Gatsby and this team were 6th!
Very well done to all the children for braving the cold and riding so well for their school.
