Benenden School Cricket Festival

The first weekend of term saw 10 Year 7 girls attended a cricket festival at Benenden School run by a professional women’s cricket coach.

During the morning session, the girls mixed with children from DPS and Benenden to complete a carousel of skill specific drills, which focused on their bowling, batting and fielding techniques in preparation for games during the afternoon session. This allowed the girls to practice in mixed age and ability groups.

During the afternoon matches, the girls remained in their mixed groups to play five matches. There was some great play from MHS with the girls demonstrating fantastic cricket skills amongst their teams. There was special recognition of Gabriella S and Eliza F by the coaches, as they displayed excellent bowling and fielding ability. A fantastic day was had by all, despite the cold wind, and it was a great start to the cricket season.
