YEar 4 Science and Art trip to great Dixter

In late June our Year 4 pupils visited the gardens at Great Dixter to explore the wonderous variety of plant and insect life.

They enjoyed a morning of sketching in the garden and exploring the maze of pathways and the numerous different types of flowers and plants there. It was brilliant way to bring Science to life and have the opportunity to see the parts of flowers and process of pollination happening live in front of their eyes. As they walked to the forest they played at hiding and sneaking through the forest just like Robin Hood’s Merry Men!

Earlier in the day they made the dough for flatbread and, once they arrived in the forest, they built a fire and became expert den-builders and whittlers! All of Year 4 had a fantastic, unforgettable experience.
