The School Orchard has five new fruit trees courtesy of the Tree Council and ably planted by 1C and their team of helpers (thank you to Mr Budd, Mr Newton and Mr George).
Expanding our orchard is part of The Great Outdoors initiative launched last year - a key focus here, linking our whole school approach to outdoor learning, wellbeing and all things eco. Already a wonderful outdoor learning area, the orchard also supports our environmental education, enabling pupils to learn about, and play a role in, sustainable food production. We look forward to future harvests of cherries in July, plums in September and apples and pears in October. Delicious!
