Marlborough House School believes that excellence should be recognised and awards scholarships to children who show outstanding ability in various areas. Year 7 entry scholarships are a public recognition of the contribution that talented pupils make to school life and will be awarded on the basis of merit.
Applications from current MHS pupils and external candidates will be considered, with all pupils being judged mainly on Monday 11th March with music assessments on Tuesday 12th March. Candidates will be judged on their current level of ability as well as their potential.
Scholarships are available in the following six categories:
Academic, Art, Design and Technology, Drama, Music and Sport
There is also an All-rounder category where pupils can demonstrate aptitude in either two or three of the above categories.
The Assessment Guidelines for Candidates document with further details about the individual scholarships is available to download below.
Those who are successful in gaining a scholarship will be supported individually in their final two years at Marlborough House School which will include enrichment sessions and help in preparing for any suitable scholarship attempts for senior schools. It is expected that successful candidates will both increase focus on the area in which they have won an award and achieve high standards of performance.
Applications and assessments for Year 6 pupils take place annually, for entry into Year 7 the following September. Scholarship applications for a Year 7 place in September 2024, open in February 2024.
