With all this wonderful weather and knowing that being outside is both the safest place and the most enjoyable space, Year 7 headed out with glee for their final form time of the year.
We are delighted to have our Year 8s back at school! This is a special time for Year 8 as they complete their Leavers’ Programme and spend a last week together at Marlborough House.
Huge congratulations to our MHS Alumni on their new leadership roles at Cranbrook School - Isabella Gard who has been made Head Girl, Huw Mathers who is a House Captain and Joseph Mathers who is the Editor of the School Magazine!
Four of our Year 8s have had work selected for the 2020 edition of the Kings’ Canterbury Mind’s Eye publication, available to view here as an online version this year: https://issuu.com/cobwebcreative/docs/mind_s_eye_prep_2020
Huge congratulations to MHS Alumnus Elo Quitmann, who will be Head Girl at Eastbourne College for the academic year 2020-2021.
Sports Day is a highlight of the Summer Term for the school, so with restrictions in place this year and the usual schedule of summer sporting events cancelled, we organised some fun, competitive games sessions for all year groups. These have allowed the children to enjoy some exercise outdoors and sense the thrill of some friendly competition.
We are delighted to have been shortlisted for an Independent Schools of the Year 2020 Award for Healthy Eating.
With the final preparations in place, on Monday 22nd June we welcomed back Years 2, 3, 4 and 5!
The Pre-Prep and Prep School both held a online quiz in the second half of the Summer Term.
Our Headmaster Designate, Mr Newton, visited Reception and Year 1 children today during one of his visits to the school.

Marlborough House School Reopens
Whilst our academic provision continues online via our interactive teaching platform, we are pleased to be providing all our pupils with the opportunity to return to school this term. We appreciate the importance of our pastoral provision and the value of the children returning to their school routine, their friends and their teachers, before the Summer holidays begin.
Having remained open for the children of key workers since 20th March 2020, we were pleased to reopen to Nursery, Reception and Year 1 from 1st June, and to Year 6 for games sessions from the following week. During June we reopened to Years 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 for full days, and welcomed back our final year group, Year 8 on 6th July for the last week of term.
Admissions remains open and places are available from September 2020. Please contact our Registrar, Emma Houchin, to enquire: email@example.com or 07469 159064.
